SASKATCHEWAN (CBC) - A 20-year-old Saskatchewan man will make a first appearance in Broadview provincial court Wednesday, charged with murder in the stabbing death of Matthew Troy McKay, 18.
The 20-year-old, whom police haven't named, is also charged with the aggravated assault of Jordan Lee Taypotat, 20.
The man turned himself in to the Broadview RCMP detachment on Tuesday morning, the RCMP said.
McKay was from Ochapowace First Nation, while Taypotat is from Kahkewistahaw First Nation, both in the Broadview area.
McKay died following a brawl inside the Broadview Hotel on the night of Oct. 30.
Broadview, about 150 kilometres east of Regina, is a town of about 610 people.
